Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Reseep.ng ("Reseep", "we", "us"), a digital receipt service for Nigerian businesses. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your account

You must provide accurate business information at signup. Your business identity (name, phone, email, address, RC number) is locked after your first receipt — contact support if you need to change it. You are responsible for keeping your password secure.

2. Using Reseep

Reseep provides tools to create, sign, and share digital receipts. You agree not to use Reseep to:

• Issue receipts for fraudulent transactions
• Impersonate another business or person
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service
• Violate Nigerian law or the rights of others

3. Receipts and verification

Receipts are signed with cryptographic hashes (HMAC-SHA256) at the moment they are generated. Once signed, the financial fields (amount, receipt number, items, business) cannot be edited — you can void a receipt and issue a corrected one. The QR code on every receipt always reflects the original signed data at the time the receipt was issued.

4. Subscription and payments

Reseep offers three plans: Free (10 receipts per calendar month), Standard (₦2,999 per 30 days, 50 receipts), and Premium (₦5,000 per 30 days, unlimited). Payments are one-time per 30-day cycle and are processed by Paystack. We do not auto-charge. There is no free trial of paid plans.

5. Free tier

The free tier resets on the 1st of each calendar month. Receipts created but not synced before the reset do not count toward the new month's limit until they sync.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, attempt fraud, or use the service in ways that harm other users. You can delete your account at any time by contacting support. On deletion, your receipts remain verifiable (their signatures are permanent) but your account and personal data are removed from active systems within 30 days.

7. Limitation of liability

Reseep is a tool for issuing and verifying receipts. We are not a party to the transactions between you and your customers. We make no representations about the enforceability of a receipt in a legal or tax context — that depends on Nigerian law and your specific circumstances.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reseep's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid Reseep in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data Reseep.ng collects, how we use it, and your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

1. What we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your name and business name
• Your email address and phone number
• Your business address and (optional) RC number, website
• A hashed version of your password (we never store your raw password)

When you create a receipt, we store:

• The items, amounts, taxes, and total for the receipt
• The customer's name and phone number if provided
• The date and time of the transaction
• A cryptographic signature that proves the receipt has not been tampered with

When you pay for a plan, we do not see your card details — Paystack processes payments and we only receive confirmation of the amount and status.

2. How we use your data

We use your data to:

• Operate your account and issue receipts
• Generate a searchable ledger of your sales
• Provide the public verification page for anyone who scans a receipt's QR code
• Contact you about account issues, plan changes, or support requests
• Improve the service (aggregated, de-identified usage)

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your customer data for marketing.

3. Who we share with

We share data only with:

• Paystack — to process payments (they handle card data; we never see it)
• Render — hosts our backend servers
• Vercel — hosts our web app
• Neon — hosts our encrypted PostgreSQL database
• Cloudflare — provides captcha and DDoS protection

Each of these is a standard industry processor bound by contract to protect your data.

We may disclose data if required by Nigerian law or a valid court order.

4. Public information

Each receipt has a public verification page (accessible by anyone with the QR code or link). This page shows:

• The merchant's business name, address, and contact
• The receipt number, total amount, items, and status
• The customer's name (if you provided one on the receipt)

This is intentional — it is what makes receipts verifiable. Do not put information on a receipt you would not want a customer to see.

5. Your rights under NDPR

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data (via Settings)
• Delete your account and personal data (contact support)
• Object to processing or request restriction
• Port your data (export as CSV via the app)
• Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)

6. How long we keep data

We keep account data while your account is active. On deletion, we remove personal data within 30 days. Receipt data is kept longer because its cryptographic signature is permanent — a receipt that has been shared with a customer must remain verifiable.

7. Security

All traffic between your device and Reseep uses HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA256 (720,000 iterations). Login is protected by brute-force lockout after 5 failed attempts. The database is encrypted at rest.

8. Cookies

Reseep uses only essential cookies and browser storage required to keep you logged in and to work offline. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics that fingerprint you.

9. Children

Reseep is not intended for users under 18.

10. Changes

If we make material changes to this Policy, we will notify you via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect.
